What types of fittings does the Thred Taper M7000 and 8300 Automatic PTFE Taping Machine wrap?

Thred Taper M7000 can automatically wrap virtually any threaded male connection (metal or plastic) from 1/8” – 3/4” NPT with a perfect wrap of PTFE tape. Thred Taper 8300 can wrap fittings up to 2” in size with PTFE tape. Both models of Thred Taper can wrap American Tapered, British Straight and Metric threads.

We use conventional PTFE tape for thread sealing. Why is Thred Tape better than standard pipe tape or plumbing tape?

Standard PTFE tape is only 2 mil thick, and can often require you to use much more tape than you actually need to create a positive seal. Thred Tape, on the other hand, comes standard with a 3.5 mil thickness, which means you use less PTFE tape when wrapping valves, pipes, gauges, fittings and other threaded parts.

What widths of Thred Tape PTFE tape are available?

Thred Tape cartridges come in a variety of sizes for almost any PTFE tape application, including 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4".

Do I have to use Thred Tape PTFE tape cartridges in the Thred Taper tape applicator?

Yes. Thred Tape PTFE tape comes packaged in a cartridge specially designed to work efficiently with the Thred Taper taping machine. These cartridges, which are filled with PTFE tape, are easy to load and unload and keep tape free of dust, moisture and contamination, which means better quality wraps and no costly tape spoilage.

What’s the payback period after my company starts using the Thred Taper automatic PTFE tape applicator?

If your company wraps 20,000 or more parts a year with PTFE tape, the payback period is less than 2 years.

How many wraps of PTFE tape is the Thred Taper capable of achieving?

A special control on the front of the Thred Taper PTFE tape dispenser allows you to switch easily between 2-5 wraps, depending on your needs.

How fast is the Thred Taper’s automatic taping function…really?

Thred Taper can automatically wrap any threaded part in about 2 seconds with PTFE tape. Another Thred Taper customer reports that the Thred Taper is able to finish the job in 75% or less time than it took to complete the same job by hand.

Is it a long process to change out from one size threaded fitting to another?

Absolutely not. Wrapping pipe threads or fitting threads of multiple sizes is easy with the Thred Taper automatic PTFE tape machine. To wrap a part of a different diameter, thread length and/or threads per inch, all you need to do is make a few small adjustments and you’ll be on your way in just minutes.
